The Alaska State Fair 2oo6
The fair was a great success this year! Although it was mostly a success because of the people who were there to entertain. This year the Keith King BMX bike/skate stunt show came to the fair (for their third year in a row), and they topped any performance that I've seen them do yet! Us girls had already been excited about going to see the BMX show. Since we had seen them last year we were all worked up about seeing them again this year.

Although there was some changes in the lineup that was here last year we warmed to the fact pretty quickly. Unlike last year, Duncan Gore, Billy Dexter and Johnny Deadwyler where not with the Keith King show. To add a newer feel to the show there were riders, Mike Laird, Brian Wainwright, Jaren Grob, and Josh Boatright. But the still familiar faces of Keith King (of course), Jeremy Fanberg, Don Wigent, and Matt Yoder

Other then these guys the fair wasn't a total loss. There was a great juggler, Rhys Thomas, who was not only great at his job but really funny. There was also Paul Gerardi, a very good singer/songwriter who we watched on the Bluebonnet stage. Clapping and smiling for him made his day. As did the autographs that we asked of him.
The exhibits were not as good as last year, but most of the items entered were pretty anyway. The rides were not even exceptional, leaving the roundup out because it was broken. And the weather, well... that can never be accounted for...
