2005 BMX second show.
This was my first BMX show. Jessie, Jeremy and Jenna had come home after they saw it for their first time, ranting and raving about how wonderful the BMX show
was. They were talking about it all night and I was happy to listen.
The next day, mom took us to the fair, this time Jenna and Jeremy didn't come. I told Jessie there was no way I was going to miss out on the BMX show! After how
wonderful they said those guys were, I wasn't going to miss out on it. To heck with the kids, we'll take them with us. And that's exactly what we did. We took Johnny,
Jacob and Jimmy to the show.
I screamed my head off, and was extremely excited, and I would have taken a million pictures if our dumb camera hadn't given out on me. But at least I got three
pictures (which I looked at all the time.).
Jimmy and I were sitting on the opposite side of Jessie and the others, and we didn't really get to see Keith. So we heard all these people screaming and we were
wondering why. And then all of a sudden this dude (aka Keith King) rides past doing these neat tricks and we're like, WHAT THE HECK!
Jimmy and I were also in a perfect spot to get splatted, we almost got made into BMX fan pan-cakes, by like all the guys. Matt almost fell on us (he actually hit
Jimmy on accident) and Jeremy flipped his handlebars in our faces (I had to pull Jimmy's head out of the way so he didn't get a concussion).
After the show we went and bought posters, and talked to the guys, telling them how great they were. I shook all there hands, (I shook Duncan's hand three times
actually!) and got them to sign my poster. Duncan signed mine and put "stay sweet" (now where did he get that idea?) I sure do hope I haven't failed
him!
After we left the show we stared at our posters and prayed that they wouldn't get crumpled in all the havoc of the stroller (our praying didn't do much! Of course with
that stroller it was a hopeless cause.). And we didn't shut up about them for like six days after that... I had gotten my first taste of bmx.
I kept telling dad that "if your gonna go to the fair you have to go see the BMX dudes! They were so awesome," and I told him the times and
everything. But he never ended up going! (his loss!)
